The AS VAL MOD.4 9x39 special assault rifle (AS VAL MOD.4) is a silenced assault carbine in Escape from Tarkov.

Description

AS VAL MOD.4 is the fourth special modification of the integrally suppressed assault rifle, intended for Russian special operations units and task groups. The MOD.4 features improved controls: an enlarged magazine release button, additional safety selector lever, and an integrated custom charging handle. Developed by members of the BEAR Norvinsk brigade.

Trivia

• The AS VAL MOD.4 is the next iteration in the line of quasi-fictitious custom weapons based on the real-life AS VAL (GRAU index - 6P30) special rifle. Originally conceptualized for the early 2010s cancelled Russia 2028 game prototype as the AS VAL MOD.2 and AS VAL MOD.3, the weapon was later repurposed for Escape From Tarkov's predecessors and prequels, Contract Wars and Hired Ops, with an iteration appearing in every game in the series thus far.
