0.2.1.0.32547 (19 September 2024)[]

Task widget[]

Added an Operational Tasks widget to most tabs in the game, allowing you to track task progression, view rewards or replace them. All operational tasks will now be accepted automatically.

Shooting Range[]

Added the ability to test your preset at the Shooting Range before a match.

Shooting Range features:

  • Targets set at different ranges;
  • Adjustable poppers;
  • Training program;
  • Resetting all bullet decals from targets;
  • Restocking consumables.

To switch to the Shooting Range, right click the preset and select “Shooting Range” in the context menu. The shortcut is also available at the top of the preset screen.

The first switch to the Shooting Range will take a little longer than the subsequent ones, as the room location will need to be loaded. You can enable Shooting Range preload at game startup in the settings.

In-game region selection[]

Region selection has been moved from the Launcher to the game client in the settings section.

You can select up to 3 available regions:

  • If the ping of one of the selected regions becomes higher than recommended, this region will be excluded from the matchmaking;
    • If the ping of all selected regions becomes higher than recommended, the server selection will change to automatic.
    • Region selection in the group has not changed and remains dependent on the leader's selection.

These changes were made to make it more convenient to select regions, as well as to avoid situations where players were in a match with a high ping.

Preset reselection[]

Added the ability to reselect the preset at the start of the match and when switching sides in BlastGang mode. Now, if you accidentally select the wrong preset, you will be able to change it back to the one you want to use.

Blunt damage[]

  • Blunt damage is now proportional to the energy of the bullet, which is determined by its velocity, weight, caliber, and other characteristics, rather than only the total damage of the bullet.
  • Increased the blunt throughput damage values for ballistic plates, armor vests, plate carriers and helmets.
  • Soft armor under a ballistic plate reduces blunt throughput damage by 20% instead of 40%.

Identical weapon restriction in presets[]

Added a restriction on the use of two identical weapons in one preset.

This change is primarily aimed at improving the balance within a match and limiting a number of specific game tactics.

Technical improvements[]

Improved the network component of Escape from Tarkov: Arena. The following results have been achieved:

  • Increased server tick rate;
  • Improved interaction between game server and client;
  • Reduced frame time on servers, reducing latency before network packets are processed;
  • Fixed incorrect dead body inertia;
  • Reduced the number of situations in which hits were not registered.

We will continue working on technical adjustments to EFT: Arena and finding additional ways to improve stability and performance.

Balancing changes[]

  • Reduced the MP cost of ballistic plates that are only available to be installed in the back by 30%;
  • Reduced the MP cost of attachments for pistols by 50% (except for magazines);
  • Reduced the MP cost of attachments for shotguns by 30% (except for magazines);
  • Increased the MP cost of weapons with built-in stocks: AUG A1, AUG A3, MDR 5.56/7.62 and ASh-12;
  • Reduced the MP cost of AK system weapons by 15-30% (except for Saiga-12);
  • Recalculated the MP cost for armor elements due to the updated armor damage mechanics;
  • Updated the equipment for standard presets due to the MP cost changes;
  • Vulkan-5 helmet:
    • Reduced the armor class from 6 to 5;
    • Reduced the armor points from 99 to 75.

Changed the damage for the following ammo:

  • 9x19:
    • PBP: 52 → 44
  • 9x21:
    • 7N42: 45 → 49
    • BT: 49 → 52
    • 7U4: 47 → 53
    • PS: 54 → 59
  • 5.45x39:
    • SP: 65 → 67
    • US: 63 → 65
    • T: 57 → 59
    • PS: 53 → 56
    • PP: 50 → 51
    • BT: 48 → 54
    • 7N40: 52 → 55
    • BP: 46 → 48
    • BS: 43 → 45
  • 5.56x45:
    • M856: 64 → 60
    • FMJ: 59 → 57
    • M855: 57 → 54
    • MK 318 Mod 0 (SOST): 55 → 53
  • 7.62x39:
    • HP: 87 → 80
    • T45M: 64 → 65
    • PS: 57 → 61
    • PP: 55 → 59
    • MAI AP: 47 → 53

Due to the update of the armor damage mechanics, the overall MP values have been recalculated. Please note that some presets may have become over/under MP limits due to balancing changes. We recommend checking and updating your presets before matchmaking.

0.2.0.0.32193 (23 August 2024)[]

  • A number of QoL improvements have been made when interacting with the preset customization and the armory menu. Players will have access to a tutorial upon the first armory visit
  • The hit detection system visualization has been changed: when armor is penetrated or a hit is registered on an unarmored body part, a blood effect will appear. When armor is not penetrated, an armor hit effect will be displayed
  • A "Duplicate" context menu button has been added for items in gear and pockets slots
  • Fixed an issue that caused long loading times at the black screen stage at the beginning of a match
  • Fixed other various issues when interacting with the preset customization menu

0.2.0.0.32132 (20 August 2024)[]

Player profile[]

  • This update features a full profile wipe.
  • As part of the update, the progression of presets as well as player ARP has been reset;
  • ARP values have been adjusted as follows:
    • Profiles with less than 2000 ARP rating - ARP is set to 1500;
    • Profiles with more than 2000 ARP rating - ARP is set to 2000.

Custom preset system[]

Added the ability to create a fully custom preset. You can customize the equipment available for each class, weapons and attachments, contents of chest rigs/plate carriers and pockets, and the character appearance through different uppers/lowers and masks/hats/eyeglasses.

A total of 12 custom preset slots will be available to players, 3 for each class.

Custom preset rules:

  • Each piece of equipment has its own metascore value, a universal unit for evaluating the item effectiveness;
  • You can use and customize any equipment available to the class;
  • Custom presets have 4 metascore bars: Firepower, Defense, Utility, and Total metascore value:
    • Firepower bar displays the meta score for your weapon, ammo, and weapon mods;
    • Defense bar displays the meta score for all armor elements and items with protective properties;
    • Utility bar displays the meta score for medicine, gear rigs, and headsets;
    • Metascore bar displays total potential preset power.
  • Each bar has lower and upper limits. When creating a preset, you need to balance its equipment in such a way that the amount of metascore does not exceed the bar limits.

Starter presets

  • Reworked the standard presets for all classes: there are now three starter presets available in each class. All equipment from the standard presets is available immediately and can be used to create your own preset.

Collectible presets

  • Collectible presets will be improved and adapted for the custom preset system and returned to the game in the nearest updates.

Tiers

  • The preset Tier system has been fully removed from the game.

Class system

  • The CQB class has been renamed to Enforcer.
  • Each piece of equipment is assigned to a class. The equipment can be available for all classes or only for specific classes.

Armory[]

Added Armory to the game. The Armory acts as an equipment store and handbook.

You can buy equipment for two main currencies: Roubles and GP Coins

  • To purchase some equipment, you will also need to meet certain conditions, such as: completing daily tasks or reaching a certain character level;
  • Some equipment will become available when you unlock or purchase certain weapons, such as basic weapon attachments for this weapon;
  • Some equipment is available immediately at the start of the game.

In the Armory, you can see the links for any equipment. For example, you can see what equipment can be installed on a particular item.

All ammo and armor elements (ballistic plates), except for a few ballistic plates, are available immediately and do not require purchasing and unlocking.

The cost and conditions for unlocking new items have been balanced. Thus, every player, regardless of the result in the match, will be able to purchase the items they want. We will continue to closely monitor the progression balance and make adjustments if necessary.

Weapon progression system[]

Added a progression and level system for all weapons.

  • Levels are earned for kills in a match. Experience is awarded for the weapon used to score the kill. It doesn't matter if you win the match or not:
    • The experience amount for a single kill is set at 250 exp for TeamFight/BlastGang modes and 100 exp for LastHero;
    • Double and triple kills are rewarded with an increased amount of experience;
    • Each class has a 100% experience bonus for the first game of the day, with no weapon limit. For example, you can use the same weapon in different classes and receive several first-day bonuses. Please note that you can only receive one class bonus per match;
    • When changing presets during a match in BlastGang and LastHero, experience is distributed based on the number of kills on the weapon.
  • Once unlocked, weapon attachments are given for free and are available for installation on any available weapon without the need to unlock them again;
  • The number of levels on different weapon systems may differ from each other. For example, the M4A1 has 30 levels, while the AKS-74UN only has 7;

By playing with a single weapon, you can unlock most of the best attachments for it and related weapon systems.

Daily and Weekly tasks[]

Reworked the daily/weekly task system:

  • Greatly simplified all tasks;
  • Removed complex and multi-part tasks;
  • Weekly tasks now have a guaranteed reward of one Lega Medal;
  • Tasks for TeamFight and BlastGang have been merged, except for the unique tasks where you have to eliminate enemies before the capture point appears (for TeamFight) and plant/deactivate the device (for BlastGang);
  • Added a new objective for TeamFight mode: capture the objective by yourself;
  • Added a new objective for BlastGang mode: plant or deactivate the device by yourself and eliminate the enemy with the device.

  • After 10 minutes, the match ends. Players are ranked based on the number of kills they have accumulated.

    • The experience in the reward for unlocking presets is distributed as follows:
      • Experience for kills is credited to the preset on which the kill was made
      • Looting, healing and rank place experience is divided between classes, depending on the effectiveness of those classes in the match. The effectiveness of a class is affected by the number of kills and damage dealt on that class' presets
      • There is only one double experience bonus per match for a particular class. The choice of class for the bonus depends on which class gained the most experience during the match.
  • Before the start, players can select the Tier on which the match will be played;

New hitbox and armor system from EFT versions 0.14.0.0 and 0.14.1.0[]

Hitboxes[]

  • The head is divided into separate simple hit zones that coincide with the protection zones of helmets and masks
  • Three hit zones have been added to the head area: Throat, Neck, and Face colliders
  • Thorax and stomach hit zones are divided into front, back and sides
  • Pelvic hit zone is divided into Groin and Buttocks. Hitting these areas inflicts damage to the Stomach area

Armor[]

  • Protection of armor and helmets is divided into separate zones, depending on which section this zone covers (in some cases it might be several zones). These are the slots with integrated armor. Integrated armor zones have their own separate durability. For example, you can now reduce your opponent's chest zone armor durability and not damage the durability of other armor zones if you shoot them in the chest. Integrated armor usually has armor class 2 or 3
  • An armored collar that protects the neck hitbox has been added for a large number of body armor pieces
  • In addition, ballistic plate slots and integrated armor slots have been added to body armor vests and plate carriers: for chest section, for back section, and for side sections. Ballistic plates usually have armor class 3-6
  • The dimensions of the ballistic plate zones are the same as the average dimensions of real ballistic plates of that format
  • Body armor protection is no longer uniform. It now depends on what areas the body armor visually protects. For example, no body armor protects the armpit area

Damage and armor[]

  • Reworked the damage through layers of armor: now when each layer is penetrated, the bullet loses some penetration power and damage depending on the characteristics of the penetrated armor
  • Blunt damage now decreases when there is soft armor behind the unpenetrated component
  • Removed the possibility for bullets to pierce through a character's thorax and stomach

New content:

Chop Shop

    A new location Chop Shop has been added to the game: a car repair shop in the industrial zone of Tarkov. It used to be the place where stolen cars were stripped for parts to sell, but now it has become a gunfight arena.
  • This compact location for violent fast-paced battles is available for Shootout 2x2 and Shootout 3x3 modes.

Changes and new mechanics:

Ranked matchmaking changes:

  • Now when searching for players, it matches you based not only on the ARP, but also on the average Meta Points of presets purchased in previous matches.

Vaulting and obstacle interaction:

  • Obstacle vaulting has been added to the game;
  • There are two types of vaulting:
    • Climbing the obstacle and remaining on it. For example, climbing a crate to fire at the enemy from top of it;
    • Vaulting over an obstacle. For example, jumping over a small fence to take a shortcut.
  • Each of these types has different animations for different heights, different parameters of stamina and arm stamina consumption, and different action speeds, depending on the negative effects;
  • During a sprint, you can jump over obstacles without the goal of climbing them (Vaulting);
  • If vaulting is performed while walking, the loudness of such actions will be noticeably lower than jumping and sprinting;
  • For the convenience of overcoming obstacles an option has been added to the game settings: "Vaulting over medium obstacles", where you can choose "Auto" or "Hotkey". If you select "Auto", your character will climb over medium and low height obstacles by himself. If you select "Hotkey" you will need to press the "Jump" key to initiate vaulting, but this way you can control the character's actions more precisely;
  • The character now stops if he hits a wall while walking or sprinting.

'Please note that Arena locations are not fully adapted to the vaulting mechanics yet, so we ask you to report any issues you find. Locations will be finalized early next year.'

Shoulder transition

  • The ability to move firearms from the right shoulder to the left shoulder and back has been added to the game. This can be useful when you want to fire from the left side while behind cover;
  • Shoulder transition is available during walking, crouching, leaning, and other actions;
  • Shoulder transition is not available while prone and overhead and side blind firing;
  • Positioning the weapon on the left shoulder imposes a penalty - the weapon has additional sway when moving.

Controls settings Warning: All controls settings have been reset to default.

  • Added "Shoulder transition" action, default key is "Mouse4";
  • Added "Vaulting" action, default key is "Space", press type is "Continuous";
  • The "Jump" action has been reassigned to "Spacebar" key with "Release" press type. Try these controls settings in-game before changing them.

New recoil mechanics

  • The recoil mechanic has been improved to make it more realistic and comfortable for players. A special emphasis has been placed on improving the feel of semi-auto and short burst shooting;
  • New recoil mechanic now includes a variety of flexible settings, allowing for balance adjustments based on analytical data and player feedback;
  • Recoil parameters have been rebalanced for all weapons available in the game.

Economy changes

  • Cash rewards:
    • The cash reward for winning in all modes has been increased:
    • For matches with starter presets (Meta Points (MP) below 300), the reward value has been increased by 10% compared to similar matches in the last patch;
    • For matches with advanced presets (MP above 600), the reward value has been increased to 47% compared to similar matches in the last patch;
    • In addition, in ShootOut 2x2 and ShootOut 3x3 modes, the reward values have been further increased and are now 15% higher than in Teamfight mode;
    • Reward values in ShootOut 3x3 mode have been balanced relative to ShootOut 2x2.

Experience

  • Experience rewards have been increased for:
    • Kill: from 100 to 250;
    • Headshot kill: from 150 to 250;
    • Double kill: from 100 to 150;

    • Objective capture in ShootOut 3x3 and ShootOut 2x2 modes: from 100 to 200;

  • Experience rewards have been decreased for:

      • 1st place: from 6700 to 5500;
      • 2nd place: from 4200 to 3500;
      • 3rd place: from 3200 to 2500;

      • 2nd place: from 4000 to 3500;
      • 3rd place: from 3500 to 3000;
      • 4th place: from 3000 to 2500;
      • 5th place: from 2500 to 0.
  • This change will allow players to gain more experience if they performed well in a match but did not win.

Rating

  • Amount of received rating has been changed for:
    • ShootOut 2x2
      • 1st place: +30
      • 2nd place: +15
