There are multiple currencies in Escape from Tarkov, the most used one is Roubles (₽). Currencies can be looted across all maps, in various loot containers, safes, wallets, and on random furniture, e.g. bookshelves, wardrobes and tables.
Different currencies[edit | edit source]
Dollars are the main currency of Peacekeeper, while Euros are mostly used for buying from Mechanic. Unlike Roubles and Dollars, Euros cannot be earned by selling items to a trader. These must be purchased from Skier at loyalty level 2.
Different quests will also yield a certain amount of currency.
Also it is recommended to buy from dealers with currency in multiples of 100 to get the exact price of an item especially ammo and currency, otherwise it will round the value and cost you more. The opposite is working only for ammo sold at Peacekeeper but is not worth it the time spent to sell 1 ammo at a time.
Currency ratios[edit | edit source]
While the ratio between different currencies is not constant, it roughly stays the same.
You can get the current value of Dollars and Euros by using the estimate of the "+ Add offer" dialog on the Flea market and adding a requirement with the according currency. Since 0.12.10 the estimates are rounded to 3 decimal places rather than integers, e.g. on 30-03-2021 at 19:00 UTC, $1000 was estimated at ₽115 830 ($1 = ₽115.83) and €1000 was estimated at ₽129 351 (€1 = ₽129.351).
