The Molot OP-SKS Carbine is the hunting rifle version of the SKS, designed for loading with the 7.62x39mm, the most popular ammunition. The weight and dimensions make the carbine ergonomic for shooters of any age and height. It has been used for all types of traditional Russian hunting for more than 50 years. Tested on predators in Africa, Southeast Asia, Central America, Middle East.

What makes the OP-SKS different than the standard SKS, other than its birch color and not a dark brown, is that it is able to mount dovetail optics unlike the standard SKS.

*Mount is only for OP-SKS variant.

Traders that have it

  • SKSs are usually used by Scav snipers. These snipers are commonly found on warehouse roofs as well as near the far-eastern checkpoint in Customs.

  • The Escape from Tarkov version of the SKS is probably a civilian version, as it does not have a bayonet attached to the underside of the barrel that the military version has.
  • The SKS Carbine is present in Escape from Tarkov's predecessor, Contract Wars, a PvP multiplayer game also by Battlestate Games, as a tier 6 assault rifle.
